Choosing The Genre

Hello and welcome back, through the research I have been doing these last days bouncing back and forth from idea too idea, I have noticed that I am very indecisive. Many ideas have popped up in my head without correlating to one another, like animating my own opening to filming a shipwreck, but none of them seemed to resonate with me. So I began my quest to find the perfect movie plot that would be far original from anything ever created.

Begining by researching my favorite genre, a mix of action and adventure, I came upon this
"The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure" - Christopher McCharless
This quote impacted my views on what I looked for in this project. I realized I want my whole journey of creating this opening to be an adventure.

So beginning my research on a now decided genre, I came across "Characteristics of Adventure Fiction" by Kristine Tucker. This article explains the different characteristics the adventure genre embodies. It hits main points such as that an adventure film always includes a courageous protagonist that faces life or death situations that test whether they put others before themselves. Continuing the research on the adventure genre, I discovered that most adventure films interact greatly with the environment around the characters. Most adventure films embodied this idea where the protagonist faces challenges dealing with the environment around them. Overall I feel that this genre and the concepts incorporated within it have begun to spark ideas.
